In graduate training he learned the value of questioning what the data can and cannot reveal, what inherent selection biases may lurk unannounced as artifacts of the data generating process, and what must be true for the analysis to be trustworthy and reproducible. For over two decades, he has built production systems across biopharma, consumer internet, and data-intensive startups, bringing fluency across full spectrum of the craft: from systems programming and statistical inference and Bayesian methods to machine learning and modern AI. Search Marketing, eHarmony, Grindr, AEG Presents!, Ontrak Health, and others - consistently finding the right instrument for the right problem, which once involved Perl, SAS, Clojure, and other languages that shaped his thinking about software.
